Your trip to Vegas will be in vain if you have never heard of the legend of the Coin Girl. An old yet still shiny centurion coin has brought her countless miraculous fortunes. Even the owner herself has no idea where it comes from. A non-branded tie that was purchased from a bus gift shop. The interviewee likes it a lot and often wears it.
From my point of view, such taste is too liberal, but in her case ... it fits well. That's all that matters.
A disorganized set of accessories, all gilded and cheap. They are probably the result of some hoarding disorder. While some of their designs are praiseworthy, the redundancy has ruined their advantages.
If anyone can take them away, I would be willing to pay them... That sounds familiar.

A ribbon issued to Miss Soccer, the honored guest of the celebration ceremony for Rimet Cup's return, by the host of the event. The interviewee's name has been printed on the ribbon neatly, with stripes that go with the dress embellishing the edge. The interviewee has no special feeling about it, as she doesn't need it to spread her name. A sombrero from the interviewee's hometown, which is on the other side of the waters. She happened to bring it with her when she left, and now it happens to make a good match with the dress. A garland from some enthusiastic fans, the bright colors expressing their affection for Miss Soccer. This unexpected gift is more to the interviewee's liking compared to the ribbon issued by the host of the event.

Story[]

Las Vegas Dream
0%
The Great Depression was like a nightmare that took hold of everyone.
Mr. Maron's promise evaporated, just like the economic bubble. The price of the gold dug up by the Mexicans fell sharply and the gold miners left. Almost everyone was left starving and children even lacked the energy to cry. Meanwhile, the days continued to pass.

However, Las Vegas was still Las Vegas. It was a fertile land, an oasis in the desert.
With the passing of a bill in the Nevada Legislature, gambling dens opened once more and the glamorous city of gambling was thus established. The gold-diggers returned, as did song and dance. The beautiful girls dressed scantily as they walked by in casinos.

A woman of Mexican descent went into labor on the night of the opening. The newborn child clutched a gold coin in her hand tightly, which left her midwife frowning in confusion. With questions still stuck at the back of her throat, a man who had just won the jackpot could be heard yelling in the background amid the lights in the distance.
This was Las Vegas, a place of revelry where there was even honey in the soil.
It breathed and cheered as thousands of slot machine coins poured into the pool, offering its congratulations on the birth of Las Vegas' newborn daughter.

Did you hear? The crew of Witch for A Day is by the cliff to the east of town now. They are carrying—Um, what's that again? A camera?"
The people scrambled to the cliff by the shore where the star Jax Bailey was greeted by waves of screaming housewives.
But the attention on him didn't last. The tall Mexican woman standing by the cliff blew a few kisses to the crowd and put her hands in the air. Then she jumped into the water in a steel container and shut the door tightly.
As the people heard the deafening noise made by the rock and steel, the container fell back down the cliff.
Whispers that sounded excited a moment ago turned into cries of horror immediately. Mothers covered their children's eyes while men cried out in search of doctors and emergency services. The next second, however, the crowd suddenly went silent in surprise when the woman hopped out of the water, laughing with a coin between her teeth.

"Th-That's—Centurion!"
They found out who she was and recalled the story she told in the interview. More specifically, it was a strange, unbelievable legend. At the time, they said she was nothing but a liar, a stuntwoman hired by the crew.
But then everyone—including those on the other side of the TVs—knew she had been telling the truth.

Centurion: Wow... Hello there, pretty lady. How would you like to shake my hand? Let's see...
Pandora Wilson: No, please stop trying.
Pandora Wilson: I heard you used to be a traveler and visited a lot of places before you gained fame.
Centurion: I don't like traveling; I just don't like staying in one place.
Centurion: I need new people and new things, just like someone who crafts torture devices and is always hungry, or a young lady who has wine spilling out of her lips while she is napping.
Pandora Wilson: That is quite new, even from my perspective. I'm sure there are plenty of these instances in television programs.
Centurion: I wouldn't be so sure about that. I admit things were quite fun at the beginning, but they've got escape hatches for me now! Goodness! I'm starting to miss that guy who came up with all sorts of torture devices every day...
Pandora Wilson: So you mean you're planning on leaving the screen?
Centurion: Not just yet, but soon. I'm going to enjoy my last bit of fun. It's time to end things, and I'm not going to be there forever.
Pandora Wilson: Your audience will miss you.
Centurion: Ooh... watch the replay, my dearies!

Birthday Letter[]

1: On this day many years ago, Centurion was born in Las Vegas, with Solidus symbolizing good luck in her clenched fist.
2: Centurion's birthday party would be livestreamed on the TV show Witch for a Day. Stay tuned for a mind-blowing reality show including escape and electric shocking.
3: On this night, after Centurion won half of the entire casino's chips, the casino manager bribed her with a plate of Tres Leches cake stuffed with three bottles of chilli sauce to temporarily throw away her Solidus, which might have saved the casino for the moment.

Trivia[]

  • Her name derives from the Centurion Card, a globally used charge card issued by American Express, commonly known as the Black Card.
  • Her character setting takes reference from Gloria Dea, the American actress, dancer, artist, and magician.
    • Her job as a magician and nature as a gambler is possibly inspired by Gloria Dea being the very first magician to have perfomed in Las Vegas.
    • The fact that she is a Mexican could be a reference to the 1945 musical film Mexicana, in which Gloria Dea played a role.
